Several arrests were made by Storm Lake Police Monday night after investigating a report of possible drug activity at 714 Geneseo Street.
Police detected the odor of marijuana and took nine people into custody for questioning. Police searched the residence and seized a quantity of marijuana wax and other drug paraphernalia.
Police charged 20-year-old Jesus Diaz of Storm Lake with gathering where marijuana is used, a serious misdemeanor… and possession of alcohol, a simple misdemeanor. He was also wanted on a Buena Vista County warrant charging him with contempt of court. He was held in jail without bond.
Police charged 25-year-old Fabian Luna of Storm Lake with gathering where marijuana is used and providing alcohol to a minor. Police charged 18-year-old Eriberto Huizar and 22-year-old Juan Huizar, both of Storm Lake with gathering where marijuana is used and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police charged 20-year-old Jesse Wolver, 20-year-old Juan Tello, and 19-year-old Brian Huizer, all of Storm Lake, with gathering where marijuana is used and possession of alcohol. Twenty-two year-old Georgia Kotsiomitis and 50-year-old Francisco Huizar, both of Storm Lake, were charged with gathering where marijuana is used. All eight were jailed on one-thousand dollar bonds.
The investigation is continuing and additional charges are anticipated. Police were assisted by the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office.
