The Storm Lake City Council this week approved a new completion date for the Circle Park storm sewer reconstruction and rain garden project.
City manager Keri Navratil says work is nearly finished… but they are waiting for delivery of a storm drain for the sidewalk. Until that arrives, the work can’t be completed. The completion date of October 30th was extended to November 30th.
The project includes rain garden excavation for rain garden construction, sediment control measures, landscape plantings, and the reconstruction of a collapsed storm sewer. Healy Excavating of Lake View is the contractor for the 97-thousand dollar project.
The city council also approved a change order for the water plant drive project, reducing the cost by 34-hundred dollars. The original contract was for 54-thousand dollars. Water plant superintendent Mike Davis says the driveway allows chemicals to be delivered to the lift station at the water plant, and provides access to the well road.
