Illegal Drug Arrests

The Storm Lake Police Department made several arrests today in connection with the alleged use and sale of illegal drugs.
Police allege in September of this year they conducted a controlled purchase of methamphetamine from 34-year-old Veil Jacoby Douglass of Storm Lake at a residence at 1123 North Ontario Street. At approximately 6:15 Tuesday morning, the Storm Lake Police Tactical Team executed a search warrant and arrest warrant on Douglass at the Ontario Street address. Upon entering the residence, police located and arrested Douglass, and also detained another adult male and two juvenile males. While on location, police allege they detected the odor of burnt marijuana in the residence. The residence was sealed, and police acquired an additional search warrant for the premises.
Upon executing the search warrant, police allege they located and seized a quantity of substance believed to be methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana. In addition, drug paraphernalia and scales used for the sale of illegal drugs was located and seized.
During the investigation, police allege that a second adult male in the residence, identified as 20-year-old Jamal Carter of Storm Lake, and a 14-year-old male of Storm Lake smoked marijuana in the residence Monday evening.
Douglass was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine, a class C felony…Gathering Where Controlled Substances are Used, a class D felony…Possession of a Controlled Substance Methamphetamine, and Possession of a Controlled Substance Cocaine, both serious misdemeanors…Child Endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a ten-thousand dollar bond.
Carter was arrested and charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana, both serious misdemeanors…Gathering Where Controlled Substances are Used…Child Endangerment…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was booked into the county jail on a two-thousand dollar bond.
The 14-year-old male was charged with Gathering Where Controlled Substances are Used…Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was processed and released to a family member pending a date in Juvenile Court.
Police also arrested 39-year-old Jennifer Lichtenberg of Storm Lake at Methodist Manor in connection with the investigation. She was charged with Conspiracy to Deliver Methamphetamine, a class C felony…Gathering Where Controlled Substances are Used…Possession of Controlled Substances Methamphetamine and Cocaine…Child Endangerment…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was booked into the county jail on a ten-thousand dollar bond.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are anticipated.
