The Storm Lake dredge has been demobilized… and soon will be advertised for sale.
City manager Keri Navratil Monday told the Lake Improvement Commission the dredge has been taken out of the water, and the DNR is allowing it to sit on shore temporarily. The city is taking inventory of dredge equipment and intends to have it listed for sale.
Navratil says the dredge was in operation this season for 110 days, averaging 2,985 cubic yards dredged per day, for a total production of 328-thousand cubic yards.
City finance director Brian Oakleaf told the commission the Lake Improvement Commission has a balance of 304-thousand dollars, with estimated outstanding bills of 159-thousand dollars, including 102-thousand in demobilization expenses.
