Mexican Man Arrested In Clay County Sentenced For Entering U.S. Illegally

A Mexican citizen who was in the U.S. illegally has been sentenced to more than a year in federal prison.

46-year-old Afredo Gozalez-Segundo was sentenced in federal court Thursday after pleading guilty in July of this year to reentry of a removed alien following a conviction of a non-aggravated felony.

At a plea hearing, Gonzalez-Segundo admitted he was previously removed from the U.S. Gonzalez-Segundo was located in Clay county where he was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

Gonzalez-Segundo had been removed from the United States in 2005, 2012 and 2013.

He must also serve a three-year term of supervised release following the prison term.
