West Sioux Flexes Muscles in Win Over Sioux Central

In a dominant effort, #1 ranked West Sioux downed Sioux Central 63-6 in the 1st round of the Class A playoffs in Hawarden.

West Sioux scored touchdowns on all eight of their 1st half possessions, in building a 56-6 halftime lead, and scored on their 1st drive of the 2nd half as well.  Eight of the nine scoring drives took less than a minute, with the longest lasting 1:03.  The Rebels didn’t help themselves either by losing four fumbles in the 1st half.

West Sioux running back Jake Lynott found the end-zone seven times in all, as the Falcons racked up 511 yard of total offense.

Ben Hargens scored Sioux Central’s only touchdown with 8:52 to go in the 2nd quarter, as a four-yard run capped a 12 play, 46 yard drive.  Hargens rushed 25 times for 64 yards, as the Rebels were held to 160 yards of offense.

West Sioux (10-0) will host West Hancock in the quarterfinals next Friday.

The entire Sioux Central team was awarded the Wells Ag Supply of Fonda Player of the Game, as they conclude the season 7-3.
