Three individuals have been charged after the Storm Lake Police Department on Thursday around 5pm received information that illegal drug use may be underway at a residence at 1108 Kelvin Road.
Upon arrival, police made contact with three occupants. Police suspected that illegal substances were present, at which time they took the three occupants into custody, and secured the residence, pending the acquisition of a search warrant.
The three occupants are identified as 20-year-old Jesse Wolver of Alta…20-year-old Niamarion Knight of Storm Lake…and a 16-year-old male of Storm Lake.
At approximately 8pm Thursday, Storm Lake Police executed a search warrant at the residence. During the search and subsequent investigation, police located and seized approximately one-half ounce of what is believed to be cocaine, a small quantity of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cell phones, and a small amount of cash.
All three individuals were charged with Gathering Where Controlled Substances are Used, a class D felony…Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, a class D felony…Possession of Cocaine, a serious misdemeanor…Possession of Marijuana, a serious misdemeanor…and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
Wolver and Knight were booked into the Buena Vista County Jail, each on a five-thousand dollar bond. The juvenile was transported to the Youth Detention Facility in Cherokee, pending a court date.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are anticipated.
