Authorities say charges are pending in connection with a single vehicle crash early Saturday morning in Clay County that injured a Paullina woman.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Audrey Branunersrither swerved to miss a deer on 500th Street causing her to lose control. The vehicle left the road. She then apparently over-corrected, causing the vehicle to skid back across the road, it went into the ditch, rear first and collided with a tree. The vehicle then flipped over and landed on its top in a steep ravine.
Branunersrither was taken to Spencer hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Upon investigating authorities determined she was allegedly intoxicated. Branunersrither was charged with OWI and failure to maintain control. The vehicle was totaled.
