A northwest Iowa mother accused of abducting three children that she didn’t have custody of has pleaded not guilty.
Danica Arzaga entered written pleas of not guilty in Clay County District Court earlier this week to three counts of third-degree kidnapping. A pre-trial conference is set for November 14th. Trial is scheduled for December 12th.
Arzaga is accused of abducting the three children last month from a residence in Royal. A statewide Amber Alert was issued as a result. It was canceled after the kids were found unharmed that evening at a residence in Sanborn. Arzaga was arrested the next day in Sioux City.
Arzaga faces up to 10 years in prison and a ten-thousand dollar fine on each count if convicted.
