On the morning of Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at approximately 9:58am, the Storm Lake Fire Department responded to Rebnord Technologies located at 210 Sale Barn Road in reference to a report of carbon monoxide in the building.
Upon arrival of fire fighters they determined that an employee of Alliant Energy had arrived at the building to investigate the report and found high levels of carbon monoxide in the business.
The building was ventilated and it was determined that a furnace was possible malfunctioning causing the release of the gas. The furnace was taken out of service pending evaluation and repair.
There were no injuries.
The fire department was on scene for approximately 10 minutes and was assisted at the scene by the Storm Lake Police Department and Alliant Energy.
On October 11 at approximately 4:15pm, at 825 Flindt Rd. in Storm Lake, a vehicle driven by Edward Schramm of Early, IA, struck a parked vehicle owned by Larry Garrison of Storm Lake. Total damages were estimated at $700.
