Low-income homeowners and renters can get some assistance to help them stay warm this coming winter.
Upper Des Moines Opportunity is accepting applications now through next April 30th for those 60 and over and/or disabled households. All other households can apply beginning November first.
The program is not designed to pay a household’s total energy costs, however it does provide supplemental assistance based on several factors including total household income, household size, dwelling type, and type of heating fuel, among others.
Anyone who has already applied and has been approved for this season cannot re-apply.
