Riedemann Pleads Not Guilty To Theft Charges

A former business office manager for three northwest Iowa businesses… arrested in August on theft charges… has entered a not guilty plea.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Jamie Riedemann of Calumet was arrested following a lengthy investigation into a theft complaint from Calumet Carriers in Calumet, which consists of C-S Asgrow, Hicks Electric and Concrete Guys.

Riedemann is accused of using her position as office manager to purchase unauthorized items for personal use. She’s also accused of creating fraudulent reports and inaccurately showing the amount of hours she worked. The complaint also accuses Riedeman of paying herself for unauthorized claims for reimbursement and misappropriating company funds to pay for personal expenses. The complaint says the alleged thefts totaled more than 40-thousand dollars.

Riedemann was charged with one count of first-degree theft, a class “C” felony… and three counts of second-degree theft, all class “D” felonies… along with three counts of theft by credit card, two are class “D” felonies and one is an aggravated misdemeanor. She was also charged with one count of tampering with records.

No trial date for Riedemann has yet been set.
