Plans are being finalized for the resurfacing of C-49 for six miles from the Pocahontas County line west.
Buena Vista County Engineer Bret Wilkinson says the county is receiving 720-thousand dollars in federal funds for the project, which he hopes will make the DOT’s December 19th bid-letting. The work is planned for next year.
Wilkinson says there will be a cold-in-place recycling of four inches of the existing asphalt, with the pavement widened to 24-feet. A fog seal will be placed over the new asphalt, which Wilkinson says will extend the life of the pavement.
