St. Mary’s School Pet Blessings

Storm Lake St. Mary’s School held their annual pet blessing on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi after the school Mass Wednesday afternoon.

School chaplain Fr. Michael Cronin blessed the stuffed animals and live pets ranging from turtles to guinea pigs to horses, cats and dogs on the school playground. This annual school event, honoring the patron saint of animals, is a favorite of the students.

Pastor Fr. Timothy Friedrichsen holds the prayer book for Fr. Michael Cronin as the students and parents hold their pets, waiting for the annual blessing on the feast day of St. Francis.
