A Spirit Lake man charged in connection with an incident in which a bullet from a gun he allegedly fired struck a neighbor has pleaded guilty to lesser charges.
Fifty-five year-old Scott Sidles pleaded guilty this week to reckless use of a firearm and assault with a dangerous weapon. The plea is in exchange for the original charges of attempted murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and willful injury being dropped.
Sidles was accused of firing a 22-caliber pistol during on October second, 2016. Authorities say a bullet from the gun struck a neighbor as she was sitting on her patio, hitting her in the leg.
Sentencing is set for December fourth in Dickinson County District Court.
