Police Blotter

On the morning of Thursday 9/21/17 at approximately 11:19am, the Storm Lake Fire Department was dispatched to Faith, Hope, and Charity, located at 1815 West Milwaukee Avenue, in reference to an automated fire alarm.
Upon arrival of fire fighters they determined that maintenance staff were spray painting in the area of a smoke detector. Paint over spray entered the detector and caused the alarm. There was no fire.
Fire fighters were on scene for approximately 5 minutes and were assisted by the Storm Lake Police Department and Faith, Hope and Charity maintenance staff.

On September 18 at approximately 1:49pm, a vandalism was reported in Storm Lake. Total damages were estimated at $1100.

On September 20 at approximately 6:00pm, in the 1500 block of Lake Ave. in Storm Lake, an unknown vehicle struck a vehicle owned by Julie Sievers of Albert City. Total damages were estimated at $1500.

On September 18 at approximately 3:37pm, in the 600 Block of Tornado Drive in Strom Lake, a vehicle driven by Bethany Larson of Storm Lake, was involved in an accident with a vehicle driven by William Swanson of Storm Lake. The two vehicles collided causing total damages estimated at $3500. No injuries were reported.
