Wernimont Intoxicated Driving Charge

A rural Auburn woman has been charged with eluding and operating while intoxicated after she led Sac County authorities on a pursuit last Saturday night.
A deputy attempted to stop 54-year-old old Diane Wernimont for suspicion of intoxicated driving on Highway 175 west of Auburn at around 9pm on Saturday. When the deputy activated emergency lights, Wernimont attempted to elude the deputy reaching speeds as high as 93-miles-per-hour.
Wernimont went into the City of Auburn, and then back East on Highway 175. Law enforcement was able to box in Wernimont’s car at 370th and Garber in Calhoun County, which ended the pursuit.
Wernimont was booked into the Sac County Jail, and was later released after an initial appearance.
