The Storm Lake volleyball team played their first home match of the season and lost to OA-BCIG in four games, 13-25, 23-25, 25-21, 21-25.
Coach Kim Johnson had the following comments, “We got off to a slow start in every set and that hurts because we are always trying to play catch up. At times our serve receive struggled and at times it looked really good and when it was good, we could attack successfully. As a team, we had 29 kills and 126 attempts, which is the most we have had in a long time.
I think the biggest thing for us is we need to get on the court and play more matches so we can get some more experience. So far all of the teams we have competed against have played so many more sets than we have. We are getting better each and every time we step on the court and I know that will continue. The goal is to continue our progress and peak at the end of the season. I keep telling the girls that we will get there but they have to keep working hard every practice”.
