OA-BCIG Reclaims Reynolds Trophy

OA-BCIG defeated Ridge View 21-0 in Ida Grove on Friday night, snapping a five-game losing streak to the Raptors.

The Falcons scored on their first possession of the game as Kaden Ladwig’s 15-yard touchdown pass to Isaac Endrulat capped an eight-play, 69-yard drive which lasted 3:34, and William Grote added the PAT.

After forcing a three-and-out, OA-BCIG proceeded to march 62-yards in 14 plays, in a drive that lasted 5:34.  On 4th and goal at the one, Ladwig’s quarterback sneak put the Falcons up 14-0 with 9:24 to go in the 1st half.

Ridge View followed by putting together a 15-play drive that lasted over eight-minutes, but turned the ball over on downs on a goal-to-go situation.

After a scoreless 3rd quarter, the Falcons got the final touchdown on the opening play of the 4th, as Chase Devitt scored on a five-yard run, ending a nine-play 55-yard drive.

Ladwig had 78 passing yards, sharing the Wells Ag Supply of Fonda Player of the Game with the Falcons defensive unit.  Devitt carried 26 times for 141 yards.  OA-BCIG mounted 241 yards of offense.

The Raptors were held to 136 yards offensively.  Jake Mitchell rushed 18 times for 64 yards.

Ridge View (1-1) will open Class A district play next Friday at home against North Union.

OA-BCIG is off to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2014.  They will play their 1A district opener next Friday at IKM Manning.  The game will be broadcast on Mix 101.7FM KAYL, and also video streamed on stormlakeradio.com and on the Mix 101.7 Facebook page.
