A man from Marathon arrested in April after a routine traffic stop by the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office north of Gilmore City has been sentenced.
Nineteen-year-old Devin Hughes of Marathon charged with possession of meth and OWI, both serious misdemeanors… possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor… and violation of a protection order, a contempt of court violation.
Hughes pleaded guilty to the OWI charge with the other charges dropped. He was given a 30-day suspended jail sentence and placed on probation for one year. Hughes was ordered to submit to a substance abuse evaluation and pay 25-hundred dollars in fines, surcharges, and court costs.
