National Night Out Tonight

Residents in communities across Iowa will be taking part in tonight’s annual National Night Out Against Crime.

This event is designed to be positive in saluting the work of law enforcement in all kinds of communities.

In Storm Lake, 22 block parties are planned… with visits from police officers, firefighters, and paramedics. The block parties generally begin around six p-m, and are designed to give residents to meet and reacquaint themselves with their neighbors. Visit a block party near you. Most of the block parties will get underway at 6:00pm. Some are large and some are small. Some are in yards and some have the entire block barricaded off.

In Pocahontas, the public is invited to the fire station from 4:30 to 7:00… where there will be fire truck rides, finger printing for kids, a CPR demonstration, and a free will donation meal.
