A Storm Lake man was arrested Saturday night after police were dispatched to Mo’s Bar to investigate a patron refusing to leave.
Officers were told the person had left the bar, and an officer saw the person, 27-year-old Martin Guillen, in the 900 block of Lake Avenue. Police allege Guillen fled on foot and entered a residence at 903 Lake Avenue. Police made contact with Guillen at the front door, where he struggled with police and was subdued. As police were walking Guillen to a police vehicle he reportedly spit in an officer’s face. No injuries were reported.
Guillen was charged with third-offense public intoxication, an aggravated misdemeanor… assault on a police officer, a serious misdemeanor… and two counts of interference with official acts, a simple misdemeanor. Guillen was wanted on a Buena Vista County warrant, charging him with contempt of court for failure to pay fines. He was held without bond.
