Tornado comeback falls short

Trailing 50-36 with just over four minutes to play in the game the Storm Lake girls basketball team went on a 14-2 run capped off by a Briana Soto 3-pointer to cut the deficit to 52-50 with :58 seconds left but Webster City went six for six at the free throw line in the final minute and beat Storm Lake 58-50 in the first round of the 4A regional tournament.

Storm Lake lost the game despite collecting 35 offensive rebounds.

Nya Malout was named the Wells Ag Supply of Fonda player of the game, she scored seven points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Storm Lake concludes their season with a record of 3-19.  The program  had just one win in the previous six seasons.
