A Tale of Two Halves in Ridge View’s Loss

The Ridge View Raptors were unable to overcome and ice cold first half as the fell to Woodbury Central on Tuesday, 50-37.

The Raptors only managed to put up 10 points in the first half while shooting 11% from the field. On the other hand Woodbury Central manage to stay on pace with their season average, scoring on 35% of their shots, and lead 23-10 at the half.

The second half was a different story as Ridge View came out of the break hitting a couple buckets to cut the lead to 8. Ridge View would manage to get the lead down to 7 at 33-26 late in the 3rd but that was the closest it would get as Woodbury Central would finish the 3rd on a 5-0 run capped off by a buzzer beating three from Payge Ronfeldt. The Raptors would manage to match the Wildcats point for point in the 4th proving that the first half was too much to overcome.

Senior Harlee Wagoner lead the way for Ridge View with 9 points. Beth Pickhinke added 7 while Kenzey Dutler and Kara Richard had 5 apiece. Woodbury Central had 4 players in double figures lead by Sally Gallaher’s 14.

The young Ridge View squad will return 4 of 5 starters from a team that finished 13-6.
