On the afternoon of Monday, January 9, 2017, at approximately 4:15pm, the Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to the Storm Lake Wal-Mart Store in reference to a theft.
Upon arrival of police they met with store staff who alleged that a store patron identified as Cara Christoffer, age 29 of Sac City, IA, attempted to leave the store with approximately $13.00 in merchandise she didn’t pay for at which time she was detained. While investigating the incident the SLPD further determined that Christoffer was wanted out of Buena Vista County on a warrant charging her with Contempt of Court reference Failure to Pay Fines.
Christoffer was arrested by the SLPD and booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on the outstanding warrant. She was further charged by the SLPD with Theft 5th Degree (simple misdemeanor). She was held on an $800.00 bond.
On January 2, at approximately 11:06pm in the 700 block of Hyland in Storm Lake, a vehicle driven by Noe Ybarra of Storm Lake struck a Quest electrical box and a Mid-American pole. Total damages were estimated at $2,200. Ybarra was cited for Striking Fixtures Upon a Highway.
On January 5, at approximately 1:pm, at the intersection of 10th and Lake in Storm Lake, a vehicle driven by Allen Bolte of Albert City, IA was involved in an accident with another vehicle driven by Evelin Garcia of Albert City, IA. The two vehicles collided causing total damages estimated at $4,000.
On January 6, at approximately 1:39pm, in the 1500 block of N Lake in Storm Lake, a vehicle driven by Bryan Chase of Cherokee, IA was involved in an accident with another vehicle driven by Adrianna Flack of Fort Dodge, IA. The two vehicles collided causing total damages estimated at $4,000. Flack was cited for Failure to Stop in a Safe and Assured Distance.
