The number of dead cattle from lead poisoning at an Alvord farm has grown.
Lyon County authorities continue to investigate the poisoning of cattle on the farm, owned by Joel Moser. On Friday, the sheriff’s office reported 40 cattle had died from lead poisoning. Now, that number has risen to at least 80. The cause of the poisoning has been determined to a tractor battery, which had been thrown into the cattle feed mixer.
The sheriff’s office says the investigation into possible foul play continues, but they are also investigating the possibility that it was an accident. Anyone with any information regarding this case is asked to contact the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
