Open house and dedication of the Storm Lake High School renovation and auditorium project will be this Sunday afternoon at two o’clock.
Superintendent Carl Turner says it’s open to the public… “we’re hoping we have a big turn out. We’ll start the events in the auditorium, so people can park anywhere around the building. We’ll have a little opening program in the auditorium. We will honor some people, and then what we’re going to do is allow people to roam around the building and look at anything they want to.”
Turner says the $18.7-million project included the new auditorium and auxiliary gym… new science classrooms and freshmen wing… new lunchroom and kitchen… and new offices… “every room was touched in some way. We have new renovated special ed rooms, a new family consumer science room, a new media center. The restrooms were completely redone. It’s just a really nice place for kids, and we’re really excited about showing it off. I think people will really enjoy it.”
Students will be throughout the building during the open house to answer questions.
Construction began on the renovations and building additions in November of 2013.
