After defeating Sioux City-Heelan for the first time in school history last week the Storm Lake football team showed no signs of slowing down in their quest for the school’s first ever playoff berth as they won at Humboldt 38-19 Friday night.
The Tornadoes rushed for 332 yards on 42 carries led by senior Josh Werge who carried the ball 12 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns. He now has 10 rushing touchdowns on the year.
Lamar Mulgae ran the ball ten times for 61 yards, Michael Demers carried the ball twice for 71 yards including a 33 yeard touchdown scamper in the 2nd quarter. He also completed 7 of 10 passes for 120 yards and was intercepted once.
Kevin Duque and Brayden Hoops also added rushing touchdowns.
Storm Lake never trailed in the game scoring on four of their five first half possessions and building a 24-7 lead at the half.

With the win the Tornadoes are now 5-0 overall and alone in first place in their district with a 3-0 record. Storm Lake will now host LeMars for their homecoming game Friday, September 30th.
