A Colorado man faces numerous charges after failing to stop for police for a minor traffic violation early Saturday morning.
According to police, 28-year-old Brocton Chase of Greely, Colorado, was northbound in the 800-block of Seneca Street. He attempted to elude police and was eventually stopped near Tenth and Russell Streets, after he spun out attempting to navigate a turn. Chase and two other occupants in the vehicle were detained without incident.
Chase was charged with eluding law enforcement while intoxicated, a class “D” felony… first-offense OWI, a serious misdemeanor… and simple misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, open container, no driver’s license, no insurance, speeding, unsafe turn, and failure to maintain control. Chase was jailed on a five-thousand dollar bond.
A 15-year-old passenger in the vehicle, of Sioux Rapids, was referred to juvenile court on a charge of minor in possession of alcohol and released to a parent.
