Iowa Farmland Values Drop

Iowa farmland values have dropped almost nine-percent in the past year.

A survey by the Iowa Realtors Land Institute shows the average value of cropland as of the end of March is 67-hundred dollars an acre… 8.7-percent lower than last year, and down over 22-percent in the past three years. In northwest Iowa, values have fallen eight-point-seven percent in the past year.

Iowa farm income dropped 47-percent from 2011 to 2014… while corn and soybean prices have fallen by 50-percent since peaking in 2012.
