On the morning of Friday, January 22, 2016, at approximately 11:52am, the Storm Lake Fire Department responded to the Buena Vista Clinic located at 620 Northwestern Drive in reference to an automated fire alarm.
Upon arrival fire fighters determined that a leaking drain pipe in the basement had caused water to short out a switch on the sprinkler system which activated the alarm.
There was no fire and no damage.
The fire department was on scene for approximately 10 minutes and was assisted at the scene by the Storm Lake Police Department.
On the evening of Saturday, January 23, 2016, at approximately 7:19pm, the Storm Lake Police Department responded to 3 Rockwell court in reference to locating a wanted person.
Upon arrival of police they located and arrested Luis Trejo, age 27 of Storm Lake, who was wanted out of Buena Vista County on a warrant reference Failure to Pay Fines.
Trejo was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.
On the evening of Sunday, January 24, 2016, at approximately 8:08pm, the Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to the Midtown Gas Stations and convenience Store on Flindt Drive in reference to a disturbance.
Responding officers were advised that a patron allegedly yelled at store staff after being denied service due to his level of intoxication. He then left the store prior to the arrival of police.
Police located the suspect in the 800 block of Flindt Drive where he was taken into custody and identified as Oman Oyongo, age 30, of Storm Lake.
Following an investigation police charged Oyongo with Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication (both simple misdemeanors). He was booked into the county jail on a $300.00 bond.
All defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.
