The final high school football game to be played in Albert City is Friday night as the Sioux Central Rebels play Le Mars Gehlen.
The Rebels will take to the field at 7:00 Friday evening… but Albert City has been preparing for the last game, as AC-T elementary principal Sara Voyles says the students have been painting windows on Main Street and hanging up signs about the final football game.
Voyles says there are also festivities planned after the game… including a fireworks show, and a dance and beer garden at Sunset Park after the game., with past articles and photos on display.
All alumni and community members are invited to fill the Albert City stands one last time… and throughout the game, facts and tidbits about the field and teams will be announced. All Alumni are invited to ‘Walk the Field’ one last time, starting at each end zone and walking to the middle of the field.
Next year, the Rebels will play at the new football field under construction in Sioux Rapids.
