Newell Couple Charged With Forgery

Two arrests have been made in connection with a forgery investigation.
According to Storm Lake Police, 54-year-old Doug Miller, and 43-year-old Tracy Miller, both of Newell, altered a check, which Tracy received from a family member from 20-dollars up to 120-dollars. Police allege the couple then cashed the check with the altered amount at Security Savings Bank in Storm Lake on August 17th.
Following an investigation, police on Thursday charged both Millers with Forgery, a class D felony. Tracy Miller had previously been charged in the case on August 18th.  They have both been booked into the Buena Vista County Jail, each on a five-thousand dollar bond.
