Dredging on Storm Lake is expected to begin about the first of September… with the dredging performed by Dredge America.
Storm Lake public works director Jason Etnyre told the Lake Improvement Commission Monday afternoon, due to a breakdown with the booster pump, there has been no dredging since June 30th. He says to will take six to eight weeks to get needed parts, and the booster pump will be moved to the marina and taken out of the water. Repairs are expected to cost at least 30-thousand dollars and will be done this winter.
Etnyre says city crews will remove excess pipe from the water and move the dredge this week. He notes there are now just two dredge crew employees, who have been working on getting the dredge cleaned up.
