On the evening of Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at approximately 8:24pm, Storm Lake Police were dispatched to Chautauqua Park in reference to an assault.
Upon arrival police were advised that a 15 year old male of Storm Lake had reported to the park ranger that allegedly he had been physically assaulted in Awaysis Park by a 14 year old male of Storm Lake.
Police located that 14 year old male who alleges that he kicked the reporting party after the reporting party allegedly asked to expose himself to the 14 year old.
Following an investigation police charged the 14 year old male of Storm Lake with Assault (simple misdemeanor). Police charged the 15 year old juvenile of Storm Lake with Disorderly Conduct (simple misdemeanor). Both juveniles were processed and released to their parents pending a court date.
The case has been forwarded to the Juvenile Court Authority.
On the morning of Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at approximately 1:23am, a Storm Lake Police Officer stopped a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction in a one way alley in the 700 block of Lake Avenue.
Police made contact with the occupants and allege the driver, identified as Emily Roghair, age 19 of Sioux Center, IA, was in possession of alcohol and was driving with alcohol in her system.
Roghair was charged with Possession of Alcohol (simple misdemeanor) and was further processed for an Alcohol .02 Violation (civil violation). She was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $300.00 bond.
A passenger identified as Mariah Ayala, age 22 of Fort Dodge, IA, was charged with Open Container (simple misdemeanor) and booked into the county jail on a $300.00 bond.
