Storm Lake Girls Track at Spencer

The Storm Lake Tornado Girls hit the track in Spencer last night and came home with 16 season/career bests.

Highlights for the green & white included Jaye Schuelke finishing 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 14′ 9” and Michelle Carillo tossing the shot 32′ 2 1/2” for a third place finish as well. In all the Tornadoes only managed to score in 7 of the 19 events. However, Coach John Brostad was pleased with their efforts saying “The gals competed well and we had girls fill in at the last minute so there was some good team support and unity.  I was pleased with their efforts.”

Marlee Nicholson was 5th in the 3000 in 12:44 just 1 sec. off her career best.
The 4 x 100 of Maria Morales, Karlee Wiegert, Jaye Schuelk, and Lidya Mulgae were 5th in a season best 54.96.
The 4 x 400 of Arwal Andrews, Ariel Bozonie, Hannah Neumann, and LIdya Mulgae were 5th in 4:59.07.
The sprint medley of Nitra Soumetho, Joy Bral, Pasha Nyewe, and Jenna Neumann were 6th in 2:09.71.
