A Pomeroy teen escaped with only possible injuries after his truck went into a creek last Thursday evening two miles southeast of Storm Lake.
The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office reports 17-year-old Zachary Burns was eastbound on highway seven when he lost control of his pickup on the slush-covered roadway. The truck went into the ditch, and was partially submerged in a creek. Burns and a passenger reported possible injuries, but there’s no report of medical treatment.
The Newell Fire Department was called to the scene to contain fluid spilled in the creek. There was three-thousand dollars damage to the pickup.
