SL Drug Investigation Leads to 17 Arrests

Storm Lake police made 17 drug arrests since Thursday, part of an on-going drug investigation.

Storm Lake Police announce that seventeen (17) arrests have been made in connection with a series of drug investigations spanning almost 24 months involving the manufacturing, sale and use of methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, MDMA (ecstasy) and marijuana.

The enforcement operation dubbed “Operation Raw Deal” began early Thursday morning (3/12) and ran through the weekend, and involved a series of arrests and two search warrants.

On Thursday Morning, March 12, 2015, at approximately 9:30am, Storm Lake Police executed a search warrant at a residence at 609 Superior Street, in connection with a drug investigation. Police located and seized prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia. In addition police arrested at the residence Long Xiong, age 32, of Storm Lake, who was wanted on a warrant charging him with Possession of Methamphetamine (serious misdemeanor). He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1000.00 bond.

At approximately 1:30pm, the Storm Lake Police Tactical Entry Team executed a search warrant at a residence located at 123 Irving Street. Upon executing the search warrant police located and seized several ounces of marijuana packaged for sale, a marijuana extract commonly referred to as “wax”, “dabs” or “butter”, several thousand dollars in cash and drug paraphernalia.

At the Irving Street address, police arrested Gustavio Ortiz, age 21, of Storm Lake, on a warrant charging him with Delivery of Marijuana (class D felony). He was booked into the county jail on a $5000.00 bond.

Also arrested at the residence and further charged was George Diaz, age 19, of Storm Lake. Diaz was charged with Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Deliver, Failure to Affix a Tax Stamp (both class D felonies) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). He was booked into the county jail on a $5000.00 bond.

Also arrested from Thursday and throughout the weekend are as follows:

Ricky Faulkner, age 53, of Webster City, IA, who was charged with Conspiracy to Manufacture 5 or more Grams of Methamphetamine (class B felony) and Possession of Pseudoephedrine (class D felony). Booked into the county jail on a $100,000.00.

Juan Jose Maldonado-Olivo, age 21, of Storm Lake, was charged with 3 counts of Delivery of Methamphetamine (class C felony). Booked into the county jail on a $50,000.00 bond.

Bret Pryor, age 25, of Sac City, IA, was charged with Delivery of MDMA (Ecstasy) (class C felony) and 2 counts of Delivery of Marijuana (class D felony). Booked into the county jail on a $50,000.00 bond.

Martin Runyon, age 48, of Storm Lake, was charged with 1 count of Delivery of Heroin (class C felony). Booked into the county jail on a $50,000.00 bond.

Junior Senesoury, age 20, of Storm Lake, was charged with 3 counts of Delivery of Marijuana (class D felony). Booked into the county jail on a $5000.00 bond.

Cesar Gracia, age 18, of Alta, IA, was charged with 1 count of Delivery of Marijuana and 1 count of Conspiracy to Deliver Marijuana (both class D felonies). Booked into the county jail on a $5000.00 bond.

Emily Roghair, age 19, of Storm Lake, charged with Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp (class D felony). Booked into the county jail on a $5000.00 bond.

Rodolfo Linares, age 24, of Storm Lake, was charged with 1 count of Delivery of Marijuana (class D felony). Booked into the county jail on a $5000.00 bond.

Pabla Avendano, age 21, of Storm Lake, was charged with 1 count of Delivery of Marijuana (class D felony). Booked into the county jail on a $5000.00 bond.

Kenneth Wiley, age 51, of Alta, IA, was charged with Possession of Methadone 2nd Offense (aggravated misdemeanor). Booked into the county jail on a $2000.00 bond.

Dalton Sassman, age 18, of Storm Lake, was charged with Possession of Marijuana (serious misdemeanor), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). Booked into the county jail on a $1000.00 bond.

Whitney Ackerman, age 20, of Forest City, IA, was charged with Possession of Marijuana (serious misdemeanor). Booked into the county jail on a $1000.00 bond.

Christopher Rios, age 24, of Storm Lake, was charged with Possession of Marijuana (serious misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). Booked into the county jail on a $1000.00 bond.

Levi Watts, age 17, of Storm Lake, was charged with Possession of Marijuana (serious misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). He was processed and released to a parent pending an appearance in Juvenile Court.

The Storm Lake Police Department is looking for several more persons in connection with the investigations and is working with law enforcement agencies in other states in search of the wanted subjects.

The Storm Lake Police Department was assisted in the arrests by the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Department, the Sac County Sheriff’s Department and the Webster City Police Department.

All defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.
