Wal-Mart Theft Arrests

Charges were filed after Storm Lake police were dispatched Friday afternoon to Wal-Mart to investigate shoplifting.

Wal-Mart staff told police 46-year-old Dawn Trierweiler of Spencer had allegedly removed almost 300-dollars worth of merchandise from packages and hid them in her purse, and under her coat, in an attempt to steal the items. It’s also alleged 24-year-old Mitchell Trierweiler and a 12-year-old girl, both of Spencer, acted as lookouts as the thefts were taking place.

Dawn Trierweiler was charged with fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor… and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a simple misdemeanor. She was jailed on a 13-hundred dollar bond. Mitchell Trierweiler was charged with aiding and abetting fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor… and jailed on a one-thousand dollar bond. The 12-year-old was charged with aiding and abetting fourth-degree theft, and released to a family member.

Police report all of the stolen property was recovered.
