A former Osceola County sheriff’s deputy has pleaded guilty in a plea agreement for allegedly being in possession of stolen property from Osceola, O’Brien, Sioux, and Lyon counties.
Fifty-two year-old Michael Block of Sibley pleaded guilty in Osceola County District Court on Friday to seven counts of first-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor charge. Block was allegedly in possession of several pieces of stolen agriculture and construction equipment.
Last March, an Osceola County deputy was investigating the theft of some hay bales from O’Brien County, which led to the execution of five search warrants at Block’s acreage on highway 59, and his home in Sibley. Officers seized a baler, wagons, construction equipment, trailers, four motor vehicle, and other items. Block is scheduled to be sentenced on February 20th.
