Downtown Facade Project Plans

Plans for the downtown Storm Lake facade renovation project were approved Monday afternoon by the city council.
City manager Jim Patrick says the project will involve 20 storefronts… mostly along Lake Avenue from Railroad Street to Sixth Street. He says the work will vary by building… but generally includes new storefronts, windows, tuck pointing, awnings, and in some cases signage.
The project is estimated to cost 880-thousand dollars. Patrick says the city has received a state for 500-thousand dollars… the city will contribute 100-thousand dollars… with the remainder paid by the building owners. Bids will be opened on February 24th.
