Man Injured In Dickens Shooting

A shooting Saturday morning at a residence in Dickens sent one man to the hospital and another to jail.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were notified shortly before 11:00 a.m. Saturday by the Emergency Room of Spencer Hospital that a man with gunshot wounds had shown up there. Upon arriving, deputies learned 32-year-old Christopher Gustoff of Spencer was being treated for a gunshot wound to his upper left arm. A pellet fired from a 177-caliber air rifle was removed and held as evidence.
Officers determined Gustoff and two males went to a residence in Dickens. The man who lives there, 33-year-old Travis Crawmer, opened a door and allegedly shot Gustoff, who was then taken by friends to Spencer Hospital.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office searched the residence, seizing the weapon involved. Crawmer was charged with serious assault, and jailed on a one-thousand dollar bond.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Spencer Police Department and the Clay County Attorney’s Office.
