2/3/15 Poky County Drug Arrests

A traffic stop by Pocahontas County Deputies has landed two men in jail on various drug charges.
Last Friday, deputies reportedly stopped a vehicle north of Pocahontas. As the driver was questioned, deputies suspected illegal use of a controlled substance. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The driver of the vehicle, 23-year-old Jared Nissen of Spencer was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a class D felony…failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a class D felony…operating while intoxicated 2nd offense, an aggravated misdemeanor…possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor…and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
The passenger, 30-year-old Anthony Murphy of Ruthven, was charged with possession of a controlled substance…failure to affix a drug tax stamp…possession of marijuana…and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Nissen was booked into the Pocahontas County Jail on a 13-thousand three-hundred dollar bond…and Murphy was jailed on an 11-thousand three-hundred dollar bond.
