Manson NW Webster took both games during their varsity double header with Storm Lake St. Mary’s.
A big run at the end of the 3rd quarter, and dominance on the offensive glass, propelled Manson Northwest Webster to a 70-60 win over Storm Lake St. Mary’s in boys basketball Friday night. There were seven 1st half lead changes, and St. Mary’s took a 31-27 lead at the half. The Panthers took their largest lead at 41-34 in the middle of the 3rd quarter, when Manson NWW went on a 16-0 run to close out the quarter. St. Mary’s scored the first 8 points of the 4th quarter to get within 50-49, but the Cougars did not relinquish the lead. Four Panthers were in double-figures, as Josh Demers had 20, Michael Demers 16, Eric Broich 12, and Aaron Miller had 10. The St. Mary’s boys drop to 3-10.
Manson NWW never trailed in the girls game in their 62-20 win over St. Mary’s. The Panthers were led by MacKenzie Laven’s 9 points. St. Mary’s is now 2-12.
