The Storm Lake school board hopes to increase the effectiveness of the district’s Foundation.
Superintendent Carl Turner says the foundation has been in place since 1983… but hasn’t reached its full potential. He says hiring a part-time person to provide leadership would improve it’s effectiveness. The board directed him to begin the process of hiring someone, who would initially be paid by the school district… although could eventually be paid by the foundation.
The board also approved a fund-raising project… with “paver” bricks. Turner said the bricks would be sold, with the donors names engraved. They would be placed around the entry to the new high school auditorium. He said money raised would be used for projects to enhance the high school renovation project.
