7/24/12 Lake Creek Sanitary District

The owners of property adjacent to Lake Creek County Club were unsuccessful Tuesday morning in having the parcel removed from the Lake Creek Sanitary Sewer District.
Rob Hach of Alta told the Buena Vista County Board of Supervisors the residence at 717 Highway Seven is served by a relatively new septic system and he’s opposed to assessments on the property for the Lake Creek sanitary sewer system, which is under construction.  Hach says he and his wife are in the process of selling the property, and the sale is being held up because it’s included in the sanitary district.  The house was there before Lake Creek and isn’t considered a part of the development.
Supervisor Dale Arends said there was a time-frame to address this during a public hearing when the district was established, and Hach didn’t do so.  He said opting out property at this point would put the district’s assessment schedule at jeopardy.  A motion to approve Hach’s request died for the lack of a second.
