Motorists should be on the lookout for bicyclists as RAGBRAI begins Sunday… with the route coming through the area.
The bicyclists will use L-36 and C-38 to come into Cherokee Sunday… where they will spend the night. On Monday morning, the route leaves Cherokee on C-43 to Aurelia… then south on M-21 to C-63… then east to M-27… where they will head south into Sac County. Buena Vista County engineer Jon Ites says temporary stop signs will be erected at the intersections on M-27 and C-63 and at M-27 and C-65 due to the bicycle traffic.
In Sac County, the bicycle riders will go east on D-15 through Schaller… north on highway 110… then east on D-15 through Nemaha. Then they will go south on M-54 through Sac City to Lake View, their stop on Monday night.
RAGBRAI on Tuesday will leave Lake View on M-54 to D-59… then east on highway 175… going through Auburn, Lake City, Lohrville, Farnhamville, Gowrie, and Dayton.
Motorists should consider alternate routes to avoid delays.
