The Iowa Department of Natural Resources was notified this morning by the Southwest Shoreline Sanitary District that untreated wastewater was leaking near the 200 block of Casino Road on the west side of Storm Lake.
          DNR environmental specialist Julie Sievers says that no sewage has entered the lake from above ground.  She says the sanitary district has used sand bags and dirt to dam up the wastewater, but there will be some seepage since the dam is within about six feet of the lakeshore.
          Sievers says the sanitary district will dig up and repair the connection pipe, and they will also take water samples for testing as a precaution.  Sievers recommends that people with private docks in the immediate area stay out of the water until 48 hours after the break is fixed and the cleanup is complete.
