7/2/12 Clay County Drug Arrests
A traffic stop by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office led to four arrests on multiple drug charges.
Friday night, a vehicle was stopped northwest of Gillett Grove for a traffic violation. The department says a passenger… 21-year-old Jesse Partlow of Spencer… admitted possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A search of Partlow’s backpack turned up marijuana packaged in several baggies, packaging material, a digital scale, drug paraphernalia, and a pill believed to be ecstasy. Partlow was charged with distribution of marijuana to a person under 18, a class “B” felony… possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a class “D” felony… drug tax stamp violation, a class “D” felony… possession of a controlled substance ecstasy, a serious misdemeanor… and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
The sheriff’s department says the driver… a 17-year-old girl from Spencer… and two passengers, a 15-year-old boy from Sioux Rapids and a 15-year-old girl from Spencer… were found to have been using marijuana prior to the stop. The three juveniles were placed under arrest and a small quantity of marijuana was located in the vehicle.
The 17-year-old was charged with possession of a controlled substance marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and underage tobacco possession. The two 15-year-olds were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
